Developed by Dr. Paul Hersey in the late 1960s, the Situational Leadership® Model is based on the relationship between leaders and followers and serves as a framework to analyze each situation based on:

  • The amount of guidance and direction (task behavior) a leader gives
  • The amount of socioemotional support (relationship behavior) a leader provides
  • The readiness level that followers exhibit in performing a specific task, function, or objective

Since then, the model has evolved to fit the pace of today’s business landscape.

Insights Discovery is an indispensable tool that recognizes an individual’s behavior to help improve communication, decision-making and performance. Insights Discovery® uses a simple and accessible four-color model to understand an individual’s unique working style preferences. The tool measures these preferences based on responses to a short online evaluator followed by a customized and facilitated debrief and application within your organization.

Every Discovery Personal Profile provides information on an individual’s strengths and weaknesses, communications style, and their value to a team. Each profile includes suggestions for development that can be put into practice the very next day. Additional chapters are available to support learning and development across a range of areas.

Insights Discovery has its roots in the work of Swiss psychologist Carl Jung. It is continually validated and refined by our research team to ensure it is always accurate and deeply insightful.

To help people uncover their talents, Gallup introduced the first version of its online assessment, StrengthsFinder, in the 2001. Since then, StrengthsFinder has helped millions to discover their top five talents.
